Lebbeus Woods — architect, artist, and cofounder of the Research Institute for Experimental Architecture — was known for innovative designs that challenge notions of space, place, materials, and buildability. His work often incorporates social, political, and geographic crisis, such as his provocative designs for cities after war and San Francisco after the Loma Prieta earthquake. Thom Mayne, principal architect at Morphosis, a firm known for sculptural design qualities and pushing the boundaries of traditional architecture, will join architect Neil M. Denari to discuss Woods's immeasurable influence and wide-ranging legacy.
